Superintendent's Comments
Welcome to our District Web Site!
Columns: Should you have questions or even comments after viewing something, please contact our offices. We do enjoy
meeting with parents and community residents or even visitors to our villages that wish to talk about our schools.
July 2008 We are a small rural district of approximately 1518 students. We have two elementary buildings, one in Morley and
one in Stanwood. The middle school and high school are on a campus half way between Morley and Stanwood.
August 2008 Nearly all students are transported by bus to the school buildings. We have 18 bus routes. Our district
encompasses 159 square miles.
September 2008 There are normally around 100 students per grade. Elementary students are usually sent to the school that is closest to
their home with all the students in grades 5 – 12 coming to the MS/HS campus.
Our district offers many athletic opportunities as well as drama, band, and many academic clubs such as Destination
Imagination, National Honor Society, Foreign Language clubs, Ecology club, Quiz Bowl and Invent America.
Board Reports: We like to involve parents too. Opportunities to serve on PTO’s at the elementary level and middle school level are
available and Boosters at the high school level is encouraged.
August 2008 This fall parents and community residents are meeting to discuss the future of the Morley Stanwood district. There will
be an opportunity to extend our 7 mills for upcoming years to pay for renovations, repairs or add new. Discussions are
September 2008 ongoing at this point so community can come to a decision and recommend to the Board a course of action.
October 2008 Hopefully everyone will become involved in some way in our school district.
